Hi guys, I haven't posted a blog recently because I have been busy with finals and AP exams. However, during that time, I have worked on a mini project as part of a architecture program that I have been participating in, and I wanted to share it with you all.
Iridescence is a project that is based in the Romare Bearden Park in Charlotte, NC, which is my hometown. The project name is inspired by the meaning behind the word, which is an optical phenomenon where a surface appears to gradually change color as the angle of view or illumination changes. In par with the title, the main aspect of the pavilion is a mosaic roof that has differently-colored pieces of glass that will reflect light in all sorts of different ways, and change based on the angle you are viewing it from.
This pavilion is centered towards new tourists being able to visit it as an iconic landmark of Charlotte, as well as a pavilion for regulars and residents of the downtown area to use for different events!
